From Wellton, we moved into Yuma, AZ - to the Sunridge RV Park to be specific. During one of our day trips last week, we checked out several RV parks, and discovered the Sunridge RV Park.

We checked in, paid for the week, and were guided to our campsite by one of the friendly staff of the park who helped us back in and line up for easy service connection. The sites are all full hookup 50/30 amp with gravel parking for the RV and vehicle with a nice size concrete pad between the RV and parking spot. All sites are back-in, but very easy to get into because they are very wide and the streets are paved - also quite wide. During our stay we noticed that whenever another unit pulled out, maintenance staff would be by to clean up and rake the gravel in the site parking areas. They do an excellent job of maintaining the park. It looked to be clean throughout.

Within the first day, we met several of our neighbours who immediately made us feel at home. Fellow Canadians from BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. This was something that we had not encountered in either Ajo or Wellton. There is a nice size ( but not large) swimming pool by the office along with other recreational activities such as pickleball.

We really enjoyed being far enough off the interstate that we couldn't hear the noise at night, but close enough to great shopping for groceries, hardware and dining. Directly to the south of the park is a residential neighbourhood that provided a wonderful area to take Baxter on some long walks - on actual concrete sidewalks and not sharp gravel and cactus infested desert.

The longer we stayed in Yuma, the more we realized this should be the place to spend our winters. There is always lots to do around town, many services, and they cater to the snowbirds. We liked it so much, we decided to place a deposit on our site 25 so that we can spend 5 or 6 months next winter. While we started this trip thinking of it as a vacation, we managed to locate a place to be our second home for the next winter season - away from the cold, snow and ice at home.
