The start of our adventure. We finished loading, checked around the house and yard, and were on the road by 10:30 AM (which is good for us by the way).

The only thing that I don't like about our Tundra is the small gas tank. It only has about a hundred litre tank and that means we have a limited range given that we are averaging about 25 litres per hundred kilometres. Because of it we have to stop about every two to three hours making sure that we time gas stations and don't leave ourselves hanging. However I have brought a full jerry can along in the back of the truck it holds 18 just as a safety precaution.

We managed to travel a little bit further than we had originally planned. Our original expectation was to make it to Regina and stop for the night at a Walmart or something similar. However we noticed doing a web search that there was a free camping site further up the road past Regina at the town of Broadview. Luck would have it that when we arrived it was late in the evening and we found out that the spot that we were occupying required a payment of $30 per night which wasn't bad considering that there was full connections available even though we only used power.

An interesting feature beside the campground/recreation area that was there was a grove of different types of berries. There was everything from chokecherries to currents to crabapples and there was a row that was supposed to be gooseberries but I didn't see any berries. One of the interesting ones was a sea buckthorn, which I thought had a citrus taste.
