We departed the campground at Broadview, SK and made it a few kilometers up the highway where we discovered the actual campground that we were looking for. There was a rest area on the north side of the highway that allowed free overnight camping. This was the site that we were looking for instead of paying the $30 for the overnight camping in Broadview.

We made it to Winnipeg in the early afternoon and followed John and Mira to where their daughter Melanie and her husband Kevin live with the three kids. We were able to leave our trailer in their yard on their acreage just outside of Winnipeg. We followed Mira and John into Winnipeg and parked the truck in their driveway for the next few days. They chauffered us around the city and showed us a number of things both new and familiar. On Thursday afternoon we went to Ken and Susan's to visit. Susan, Mira and Brenda have been friends since childhood. One of the interesting places that John and Mira drove us to was the old neighborhood that they all used to live in and where Brenda lived until she moved to Vulcan when she was 15. We took pictures of Brenda's homes where she lived growing in up in Winnipeg.

It was a fantastic 5 days. Brenda, Mira and John reminisced about the days growing up, checking out some of their former favourite places, and reminding each other of certain events they remembered.
