Today was another long travel day although probably not by choice. We started out at about 9:30 a.m. originally heading for a spot near Gary,Indiana.  About an hour into our trip we lost Doug and Marlene as they missed the turn heading for Milwaukee. They manage the travel most of the route through Chicago along the east side and through the downtown of Chicago, while we wound up taking interstate 294 that followed a route further west and not through the downtown of Chicago. We kept in touch most of the way but didn't manage to reconnect.

Along the way we tried to make reservations at the Indiana Dunes State Park which is east of Gary, Indiana, but we found out that it was fully booked so we wound up heading for the Potato Creek State Park south of South Bend, Indiana. We never did meet Doug and Marlene along the route but they manage to find the campground about an hour after we arrived. When we got close to the campground we lost all cell service so it was impossible to call them and luckily they were able to find the right campground.

Potato Creek State Park is another beautiful little spot off the beaten track. Again, a beautiful campsite that I would love to visit again.
