On this day Doug and I took the opportunity to travel into Mississauga and pick up a couple of new batteries for our RV. It was a relatively short trip from our campground to the location of Solar and Wind Technology in Mississauga.

Once we picked up the batteries we headed for Hamilton and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. They have a Lancaster bomber there and it is in flying condition. Interestingly, as we walked in we encountered a CF-100 fighter jet on display. This was the aircraft that my good friend Norm flew in the early part of his career with the RCAF. It was a relatively quiet day in the museum so we were greeted by a guide who spent most of his time with us. I was able to actually get up and sit in the cockpit of the CF-100 fighter, and I felt both proud of my friend and envious of what Norm was able to do. They have a number of interesting aircraft that have been used by the Canadian forces over the years. It was well worth the visit.

Upon return to the campsite we spent a little time pulling out the old batteries from our RV and installing my new ones. The new batteries didn't fit my old battery boxes so after a quick trip to the store to purchase a couple of plastic storage boxes we were able to get everything mounted in the trailer and working. We are looking forward to having a reliable supply of power for those nights where we might be camping without services. (Walmart perhaps?)
