We had a great day in the Kingston area. Lots of history dating back to the 1700's when the British set up a fortification to defend Canada from the Americans. This was the area where many of the United Empire loyalists settled after the American war of independence.

There is a great deal of military influence in this area with CFB Kingston and  the Kingston Military College nearby. We visited the historic Fort Henry which was built by the British to defend the area of the Saint Lawrence in the 1700's.

We spend some time in downtown Kingston and had lunch. Many of the buildings date back to that early time when the military and settlers lived in the area. And of course there were several old churches to be seen along the way. I could go on about how much money was spent over the centuries building these churches, but I'll leave that for another day.

In the evening we had dinner with Brenda's brother Brian Rose and partner Kim. We haven't seen Brian for nearly 10 years and it was our first opportunity to meet Kim. We had a great evening.
