As we waited for Hurricane Dorian to pass through the Maritimes, we spent another day in Cornwall. We visited the site of the Battle of Chrysler Farm, where a 400 man contingent comprised of British soldiers, Canadian militia and Iroquois Indians repelled an invading force of some 4000 US army troops. It was one of the deciding battles of the War of 1812, and prevented the US from invading and taking control of Canada.

Near the battle site is the Upper Canada Village, a recreation of a small town from the era of the 1800's. It was raining so we did not enter the village, as we didn't feel like getting wet. From what we saw, it was very similar to Heritage Park in Calgary and we have all been there in the past. It didn't seem like a huge disappointment to pass by the Upper Canada Village.
