We picked up our camp near Edmundston and headed toward Fredericton. Along the way we stopped to visit the Hartwell Bridge, the longest covered bridge in the world.

Next stop was the Hayes Falls, about a 2 km hike up a slight rise. Very nice waterfall in the heavily forested New Brunswick. I was able to try out my ND filter on my camera, to try taking a long exposure of the falls to turn the image of the water into a creamy texture. I think this worked quite well. If you look closely at one of the waterfall pictures you can see the different texture of the water.

From there we stopped at Nackawic to visit the Big Axe. A huge novelty structure near the water in the town. On the way out we stopped at Big Axe Brewery for a little refreshment and discovered they are part of the Heritage Hosts program, and invited us to spend the night in their parking lot in order to have more time in the area and in their establishment. I hadn't realized this program was available in Canada, and we eagerly took them up on their offer. They make some great craft beer!

After setting up camp in their parking lot, we took a quick trip into Fredericton, checked out the old downtown and riverside park areas before picking up a few necessities in a couple local stores.
