Happy Anniversary to us! When we were married 44 years ago, little did we realize that we would awaken on our 44th anniversary in a campground near Jefferson, New Hampshire. Just a reminder that life takes us in many directions.

Time to move on. I think we have travelled more of New Hampshire than the average person who has lived here their whole life. I think we found almost every back road and shortcut around the White Mountains. The scenery we have witnessed has been both plain and spectacular, and we have seen a little bit of how people live their lives in the area.

From our campground, we headed northwest to Lancaster, then west to St. Johnsbury so that we could pick up Interstate 81 south to Brattleboro. From there we headed west on Highway 9, through the Green Mountains to Bennington, Vermont. Again, we saw many coloured leaves and great scenery.  This was only Friday and the highway was filled with tourists, taking pictures of the colourful landscape. I can only imagine what the area will be like on the weekend.

We originally thought about staying near Bennington, but we made the trip faster than expected, so we continued into New York state and connected with Highway 7. We skirted north of Albany, and passed through Troy and eventually settled into the Arrowhead Marina & RV Park just north of Schenectady, NY. A beautiful little campground on the edge of the Mohawk River, with huge poplar type trees providing shade in the area.
