Today was a tourist attraction day. We left our campsite at about 9:00 AM, and headed for Niagara Falls. It was a very busy location, and indications were that it was busier than usual because it was Sunday on the long weekend. We were fortunate to find parking I a lot just across from the falls, and paid the $25 parking fee. After a short walk we were at the falls and we're able to see a spectacular view from above. The skies were a little gray but the temperature was still pleasant. We thought about taking the tour "Behind the Falls" or ride the "Maid of the Mist" boat to the base of the falls, but it just didn't seem worth the effort. The lines to purchase tickets were long, and lines for the actual attractions were even longer. We were all quite content to see the spectacular view from above.

From Niagara Falls we travelled to the historic downtown at Niagara-on-the-Lake.  On the way we passed a large number of wineries, but skipped the idea of a winery tour. We had a late lunch at a great little Greek restaurant.

Once back to Guelph we took the opportunity to visit an old covered bridge that was built several years ago near Guelph University. Obviously a replica, but I thought it was very well done.

Not far from the covered bridge was a grand old church. It's huge, and quite ornate outside. We weren't able to go inside, so I wonder if it is as ornate as some of the churches we have seen on out travels in Europe.

Right next to the church is a statue commemorating John McCrae, who wrote "In Flanders Fields", a wonderful tribute to all of those who lost their lives in conflicts including WW1 and WW2.
