This morning we went to see low tide at Hopewell Rocks and got to walk the sea floor.  You are allowed to walk the floor for 3 hours before and 3 hours after low tide.  Today low tide was at 7 AM and since the park didn't open til 9 we only had an hour before we had to head back up.  We had lunch in our trailers and headed back to the view points to see high tide at 12:30pm.  High tide ranges from 32' to 46' deep, depending on the moon.  Today the water rose to 37', still an amazing amount of water in only 6 hours.  I was a little disappointed I wasn't able to see the full magnitude of the change in tide, but it was still a great experience. The Bay of Fundy is everything as "advertised".

About 2 PM we left Hopewell Rocks and headed for Cape Tormentine on the far northeast tip of New Brunswick. It is about a 5 minute drive from Confederation Bridge on the News Brunswick side.  When we first arrived, I was a little concerned because the campground office was situated on a huge slab of pavement, with some faint lines laying out what could be construed as camping sites. There were a large number of seasonal sites in a grassy area to the side. My first thought was that the day to day camping was on pavement, about like the Circus Circus campground in Las Vegas. However, I was soon set straight that the camping options for us were along the grassy edge right along the ocean. We couldn't have had a better spot to enjoy the view of the Confederation Bridge and the water.  Once set up we walked the beach and took pictures of the bridge.

It took a while for me to realize that the campground was situated on what was once the ferry terminal to PEI. That's why the huge paved parking lot and faint lines. This was once the staging area for those travelling to PEI by ferry before the bridge was built.

Tomorrow we go to PEI!
